My Ex Cheated on Me With My Best Friend, And Now They Want Me at Their Wedding

Breakups are already hard, but being cheated on by your boyfriend with your best friend is even worse. Just when you think you’ve moved on, they ask you to celebrate their wedding. This crazy situation happened to a girl who shared her story online, asking for advice on what to do next.

He cheated on me with my best friend.

The Story:

My boyfriend broke up with me because he had feelings for my best friend Ana. We spent a lot of time together, and they said they liked each other. They admitted Josh had been cheating on me. They made a fool out of me, pretending everything was fine when it wasn’t.

If they had told me back then, I would have tried to understand and support them. But they chose to lie. So, I cut them both out of my life. I focused on school and got a good job. They tried reaching out to be friends, but I blocked them.

A week ago, Ana messaged me, asking if I could be part of the wedding party. I replied, “Congratulations, but no thanks.” I don’t have feelings for Josh anymore, and I’m seeing someone else, but I don’t want to celebrate the wedding of two people who betrayed me.

They kept insisting. Josh messaged me from a different number, and even some of my friends tried to convince me to go. I firmly said no. Even my mom called, asking if I would go, and when I said no, she sounded disappointed but didn’t push it. This whole thing is really weird to me. Why would they want their ex-best friend, the girl they cheated on, at their wedding?

Two days ago, Ana’s parents called me, saying they missed me and hoped I could go to the wedding. I told them I wasn’t going. Ana’s mom got mad and said I should forgive them and be happy for her daughter. I asked her if I cheated on Ana’s boyfriend and invited her to my wedding, would she convince Ana to come? She had no answer, and I hung up.

Now, I’m getting 20-30 calls and texts a day from their friends and family about the wedding. Any advice on how to deal with this? Why are they so desperate for me to go to their wedding? This doesn’t seem normal to me.
