Family Stories That Show Teens Need More Attention Than Babies

Many parents think that the hardest part is raising babies and that it gets easier as kids grow up. This is partly true: as kids become more independent, parents often have more time for themselves. But new challenges come up, like teenage rebellion. Parents also have to accept that their child is not a little kid anymore, but their own person.

The Story:

“I moved to a new town. A neighbor and his friends asked me to hang out. We went to a parking lot on Halloween night. The cops came because we were setting off fireworks at passing cars. We ran (bad idea), and they caught me and put me in the back of the police car. I asked the officer to buckle my seatbelt because I couldn’t do it. He looked surprised but did it. He drove around looking for the others and asked me questions. I told him my story, and he let me go. He said, ‘Don’t be stupid and find better people to hang out with.
