Pimples on the neck

Pimples on the neck, like those on other parts of the body, are often caused by
clogged pores, excess oil production, bacteria, or dead skin cells. The neck area, in
particular, can be more prone to irritation due to friction from clothing, hair, or even
sweat. A “pimple popper” refers to the act of squeezing or “popping” a pimple to
release the contents, usually sebum or pus. However, dermatologists often warn
against this practice, especially for pimples on the neck, as it can lead to
inflammation, infection, or scarring.

In some cases, a larger, more painful type of pimple may form, such as a cyst or a
boil, which may require professional treatment. If you frequently experience pimples
on your neck, it may be helpful to evaluate your skincare routine, use non-
comedogenic products, and maintain proper hygiene to prevent future breakouts. If
the pimples are persistent or severe, consulting with a dermatologist is
recommended for proper care.
